Break up songs
A break up can be difficult for mostly anybody. Sometimes there just is not any good way to go through one but, just to go through it, endure the emotional pain and learn from it hoping to not go through a similar experience in the future. More often then not a person can come out of a break up being a stronger, wiser individual with new found wisdom and knowledge. Other times it can help us realize exactly what it is that is important to us in a relationship and in our lives.
It always helps if we have people and things to get us through these difficult times such as friends, family, and positive activities. Another way to help make a break up less difficult for us is to listen to music, preferably music that is empowering and gives us a sense of strength. Below I have listed five songs that I like to call break up music to empower you and make you stronger.

Christina Aguilera - Fighter
When I, thought I knew you
Thinking, that you were true
I guess I, I couldn't trust
'Cause your bluff time is up
'Cause I've had enough
You were, there by my side
Always, down for the ride
But your, joy ride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out of shame, mmhmm
After all of the stealing and cheating
You probably think that I hold resentment for you
But, uh uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
Oh, ohh
Never, saw it coming
All of, your backstabbing
Just so, you could cash in
On a good thing before I realized your game
I heard, you're going around
Playing, the victim now
But don't, even begin
Feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave, uh huh
After all of the fights and the lies
Yes you wanted to harm me but that won't work anymore
Uh, no more, oh no, it's over
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now, and never back down
So I wanna say thank you
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
It makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
Whitney Houston - It's not right but it's okay
Friday night you and your boys went out to eat
Then they hung out but you came home around three
Now if six of ya'll went out then four of you were really cheap
Cause only two of you had dinner I found your credit card receipt
Chorus:
It's not right but it's okay
I'm gonna make it anyway
Pack your bags up and leave
And don't you dare come running back to me
It's not right but it's okay
I'm gonna make it anyway
Close the door behind you
Leave your key
I'd rather be alone than unhappy
I'm packing bags so you can leave town for a week
The phone rings then you look at me (why'd you turn and look at me)
You said it was one of your friends down on 54th street
So why did 213 show up on your caller ID
Bridge:
I've been through all this before
So how could you think
That I would stand around And take some more
Things are gonna change
Cause I won't be a fool anymore
That's why you have to leave
So don't turn around to see my face
Cause there's no more tears left here for you to see
Now is it really worth you going out like that
See I'm moving on and I refuse to turn back
See all of this time I thought I had somebody down for me
It turns out you were making a fool of me
Keith Urban - You'll think of me
I woke up early this morning around 4am
With the moon shining bright as headlights on the interstate
I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep
But thoughts of us kept keeping me awake
Ever since you found yourself in someone else's arms
I've been tryin' my best to get along
But that's OK
There's nothing left to say, but
Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you'll think of me
And take your cat and leave my sweater
'Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me, you'll think of me
I went out driving trying to clear my head
I tried to sweep out all the ruins that my emotions left
I guess I'm feeling just a little tired of this
And all the baggage that seems to still exist
It seems the only blessing I have left to my name
Is not knowing what we could have been
What we should have been
So
Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you'll think of me
And take your cat and leave my sweater
'Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me
Someday I'm gonna run across your mind
Don't worry, I'll be fine
I'm gonna be alright
While you're sleeping with your pride
Wishing I could hold you tight
I'll be over you
And on with my life
So take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
And take your cat and leave my sweater
'Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me
So take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
Take your space and all your reasons
But you'll think of me
And take your cat and leave my sweater
'Cause we got nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me, you'll think of me, yeah
And you're gonna think of me
Oh someday baby, someday
Pink - There you go
Please don't come around talkin bout that you love me
Cuz that love just ain't for me
And I dont wanna hear that you adore me
And I know that all you're doin is runnin your mind games
Don't you know my game beats these games
So your best bet is to be straight with me
So you say you wanna talk, let's talk
If you won't talk, I'll walk, yeah it's like that
Got a new man, he's waiting out back
Now what, what you think about that
Now when I say I'm through, I'm through
Basically, I'm through with you
Whatcha wanna say, had to have it your way, had to play games
Now you're beggin me to stay
[Chorus:]
There you go, lookin pitiful
Just because I let you go
There you go, talkin bout you want me back
But sometimes it be's like that, so
There you go, talkin bout you miss me so, that you love me so, why I let ya go
There you go cause your lies got old, look at you
There you go
Please don't come around talkin bout how you changed
How you said good-bye to what's-her-name
All it sounds like to me is new game
And I was right when I thought I'd be much better off without you
Had to get myself from round you, cuz my life was all about you
So you say you wanna talk, I don't
Say you wanna change, I won't
Yeah, it's like that
Had your chance, won't take ya back
Now what, whatcha think about that
And when I say I'm through, I'm through
Basically I'm through wit you
Whatcha wanna say
Had to have it your way, had to play games, now you're beggin me to stay
[Repeat Chorus]
Oooh, don't you wish you could turn the hands of time
Don't you wish you still were mine
Don't you wish I'd take you back
Don't you wish that things were simple like that, oh
Didn't miss a good thing till it was gone
But I knew it wouldn't be long, till you came runnin back
Missin my love, there you go
Kelly Clarkson - Since you've been gone
Here's the thing we started off friends
It was cool but it was all pretend
Yeah yeah
Since you've been gone
You dedicated you took the time
Wasn't long till I called you mine
Yeah Yeah
Since you've been gone
And all you'd ever hear me say
Is how I pictured me with you
That's all you'd ever hear me say
But since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
What I want
Since you've been gone
How can I put it? you put me on
I even fell for that stupid love song
Yeah yeah
Since you've been gone
How come I never hear you say
I just wanna be with you
I guess you never felt that way
But since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
I get what I want
Since you've been gone
You had your chance you blew it
Out of sight, out of mind
Shut your mouth I just can't take it
Again and again and again and again
Since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get
I get what I want
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get (I get)
You should know (you should know)
That I get
I get what I want
Since you've been gone
Since you've been gone
Since you've been gone
Simon and garfunkel - Fifty ways to leave your lover
The problem is all inside your head, she said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover
She said it's really not my habit to intrude
Furthermore I hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued
So I repeat myself, at the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover, fifty ways to leave your lover
Chorus:
Just slip out the back, Jack, make a new plan, Stan
Don't need to be coy, Roy, just listen to me
Hop on the bus, Gus, don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee, and get yourself free
(repeats 2x)
She said it grieves me so to see you in such pain
I wish there was something I could do to make you smile again
I said, I appreciate that, then would you please explain about the fifty ways
She said, why don't we both just sleep on it tonight
And I believe, in the morning you'll begin to see the light
And then she kissed me and I realized she probably was right
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover, fifty ways to leave your lover
Note: I just had to add this song, I totally love it!lol

Wow, inspiring hub! What about Plain White T's "Hate (I really don't like you)" and/or Three Days Grace "Just Like You." Definitely more hateful songs lol. But they work speaking from experience. Nice job!
This is an inspiring piece of writing, which is so much similar to the book entitled “ Far From Heaven”@smashwords.com. In this book they explore, and invite you to listen too historical aspects of music as it pertained to new beginnings and eventual break up’s.

Beautiful Hub. I enjoyed it. I think most of these songs could empower me as they are upbeat. (pink/whitney/aquilera). It's the slow ones, that make me cry my eyes out. lol. Example: Lee Anne Rime's "How could I live without you" or Mariah Carey's "I can't live if living is without you", Celine Dion "Because you loved me". I'd have gone through 2 boxes of Kleenex. lol
Great Hub - The songs in here definitely empower. :)
